Chicken Burger Pitas with Healthy Tahini Sauce

Although many chefs believe sauce a condiment or an afterthought, this chicken burger recipe is not only healthy but it also a homemade sauce based on store-bought tahini. Thanks to Lisa Richardson who enjoys creating recipes, and sharing these amazing guidelines to all of us.

Prepare These!

  • A tablespoon of tahini
  • One teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • One garlic clove, minced Dash of salt
  • One-fourth cup chopped green onions
  • Three tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
  • Half teaspoon salt
  • One-fourth teaspoon onion powder
  • One pound ground chicken
  • Two whole-wheat pitas
  • Four green leaf lettuce leaves
  • Four tomato slices

Made These!

  • Combine first four ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Combine onions, parsley, salt, onion powder, and chicken in a large bowl.
  • Divide mixture into four equal portions, shaping each into a half inch thick patty.
  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add patties to pan, and cook for four minutes on each side or until done.
  • Line each pita half with one lettuce leaf.
  • Add One patty, One tomato slice, and Two tablespoons tahini sauce to each pita half.
